Come talk whisky while Hugh distills.
This will be a good introduction to the process of distilling whisky and we will talk about the finer points but Hugh needs to be clear he is not a seasoned expert - just a competent amateur. We may even mash some grains for the next whisky to give people a good look at the start and end of the creation of the spirit itself. There will even be some 3 and 6 month old spirits to show how it develops (Hugh finds the whisky irresistible at 12 months when the right aging process is followed). The "beer" base of the whisky to be distilled will be non-traditional. The recipe is Hugh's favourite, a Baltic Porter and he will have some finished beer from a previous brew so attendees can get a sense of the base beer and how it shapes up once distilled.
