It’s an award-winning community space created by the PKB HUB.
Ahu Charitable Trust (Pukerua Bay Hub) was crowned supreme Porirua winners at the 2025 Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards for their innovative ‘Pop-Up Parlour’.
With the support of the Nikau Foundation and the Anglican Diocese, Pukerua Bay Hub is turning St Mark’s into a temporary community hub for a month-long experiment in community connection and collaboration.

No, this is a temporary space only available for the month of September 2025

Everyone is welcome. We hope to create a welcoming space that’s accessible to all. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a caregiver.

We have a range of activities. Some are free and som have a cost to cover expenses. All paid events are helping to fundraise for the Pop-up Parlour.
Koha is always appreciated.

We hope so. There are no steps, double doors that can be opened to accommodate a wheelchair and an accessible toilet. There is drive on access to the site but please note this is a gravel surface and where possible we prefer people to use street parking after drop offs. There is also a path from Rawhiti Road although this has a gradient and some uneven paving.

We have a range of regular and one-off activities. These include a regular morning tea, art and craft classes, dance events, talks, workshops, kai and movies. Check out the what’s on! event calendar.

Pukerua Bay Hub is run by Ahu Charitable Trust ki Pukerua Bay, a registered charity.
Ahu was established in 2017 by locals, with the charitable pillars of community, education, and relief of poverty. Its mission is for “better connected, vibrant, resilient communities where all people have opportunities to enjoy the company of others, get to know their ‘neighbours’ and share knowledge and skills".
